Prices without the winter promotion (400$ for Basic, 2000$ for Advanced) are the 2.0 prices, and there will be a 50% discount for upgrading from an existing 1.9 licence. So if you have a Basic licence for 1.9 it will cost you 200$ to upgrade to 2.0, 1000$ for an Advanced one.
Winter promotion is advantaging for existing user with a Basic licence. If you upgrade now you have the Advanced licence for 1000$, after winter promotion it will cost you 1600$ (Advanced – Basic). So by buying now you can benefit from all the Advanced 1.9.1 (+ 2.0) features !
Pleeease…an IMPORTANT question…if i buy the 1.9.1 release NOW (+ free upgrade to 2.0 release when available) what will happen for subsequent 2.x releases? will be for free or not?

While our 1.9 objectives are not all completed we won’t talk about 2.0 ! We will announce new consoles supports soon, then ShiVa will cover 90% of the available 3D devices, then it will be 2.0 time
