Creating a cross-platform community video game was the main idea of Philip Belhassen and Nicolas Peri. Although the tools to create video games were available, there was nothing to make them natively cross-platform. So they developed a cross-platform technology and a development kit simultaneously in order to fulfill their wishes.
This research led to a patent registration on november 2005 about the ability to generate applications in a real time environnement on server dedicated to mobile terminal.
A few months later,
StoneTrip Village was born. This was the first natively operational game on computer and mobile phones. Wishing to develop the concept further, the company decides to refine the tool and place it on the market.
StoneTrip Village then becomes the POC (proof of concept) allowing the company to demonstrate the feasability of its technology, which will become the basis of further development.
Video game production studios are beginning to show increasing interest in this new development tool.
So the company decides to place on the market not only a library and a technology but an "all in one" tool, a 3D real time application development platform. This tool, based on the cross-platform technology of StoneTrip [Stone3D], will allow the generation of applications without any alteration, which can be used on the web or standalone regardless of its capacity or power.
The STDK (StoneTrip Development kit) first version of the software was born. Initiated by the creation of a video game,
the STDK is a video game development platform, created by developers for developers.
The interface and ergonomics have been examined to simplify the creation by taking all the development constraints into account.
In due course the company established its marketing and commercial strategy and now proposes ShiVa (new version of STDK), a multimedia, interactive, multi-user, cross-platform, 3D real time application development platform (PC, MAC, mobile, PDA and soon game console).
Very strong in its field, StoneTrip has developped
a production studio and a consulting office to be able to meet all of its customers needs.
In June 2007, keen to meet the demands of the market, StoneTrip presented its platform in three versions,
ADVANCED, UNLIMITED and PLE (Personal Learning Edition). Every user (student, amateur or professional) will find the answer to their own project in one of the versions according to their budget or needs.
The StoneTrip philosophy is one of being in the market, helping its customers, whilst remaining at the forefront of the 3D real time evolution.
