1. Market X is planning a big push for all app developers who can bring out "CHILDREN" apps. Real Example -> https://nookdeveloper.barnesandnoble.com/ban-advantage/developer-promotions.html (Barnes and Noble Nook wants children apps and will give guaranteed exposure and marketing in all their 1300 Barnes and Noble Stores, etc.)
2. RIM is Giving a Blackberry Playbook to every developer who ports their app over to their platform (This ACTUALLY HAPPENED earlier this year, and many devs including myself, got a Blackberry Playbook).
3. Company X Just got hit with lost sales and a law suit. (This information is important to keep things up to date so we know if we can expect company X to go bankrupt, or change up developer relations, etc. Or even if a platform may change. For example knowing about Nokia before would have alerted people to their new OS being converted to Windows 7 Phone from their old OS system - I believe it was Symbian)
4. The latest (PRODUCT) from company X is going to be ABC Phone and is planned to be released in Q4 of this year. (Example -> There is a rumor that Apple may be bringing out a 7 inch tablet, its still in rumor form)
WHY DO WE WANT THIS INFO:
As there is so much news and so many major markets that are out there, no ONE person can know everything about the market in one shot. For this reason, I wanted to setup a post which we could all contribute to with information that we find out based on our strongest markets. If you're solid for example in iOS and Apple news, you'll definitly know when the next Mac or iPhone will be released and the details. Someone who is focused on Android may know more about that. If we pool all our resources in this information (What I call FUNDAMENTAL INFORMATION or simply FUNDAMENTALS), then we can all be informed of the latest offerings and all take part as a massive ShiVa developer collective in taking advantage of things like getting devices, getting help in marketing, or even being the first developers in before everyone else because we all inform each other and keep in touch.
FORMAT OF POST:
All posts should be in the following format -
Headline is basically what is this post about in around 255 characters or less. (EX: Latest iPhone 10 coming out in July).
URL is the direct url to the post/promotion.
Quick info is just a blurb about why you believe it may be relevant (This is optional). You may want to put here for example -> "First 25 developers in will get their own blackberry playbook" or "Company X is going bankrupt, we may no longer be able to develop for Company X again" etc. The point of this is just for quick additional information that a developer who is reading the post may want to know quickly.
KEEP IT SIMPLE AND TO THE POINT. News should be short and not too long. If we can all find postings, such as blog posts, articles, latest news, etc. we can all then be on the forefront of the app business and grow!
I'll try and start a few posts to help get the ball rolling

QUICK INFO: Delays over the new Nexus 7 Tablet (Google's very own tablet). Once they can catch up to the demand, I believe that we could see some serious sales volume increases on the Google Play Market IMO.

QUICK INFO: This is specific to the US and also for those who have their apps on Amazon. California will start getting hit with this sales tax (As per the article) by as early as September this year. I'm thinking it could decrease sales a bit but I mean if your app is $0.99, at a 10% tax it would cost $1.10 USD, so I mean its not that big a deal I guess...

They are my biggest downloader of free apps ..but never buy anything.
I may remove them from my sales all together.

I'd say let them get your free ones, if anything it may boost your download numbers, but maybe no good if the Chinese are leaving bad ratings (they could be download or rating bots!)

MORE INFO: Once again the rumours about the 7 Inch iPad...

MORE INFO: I went personally to BB10 Jam in Montreal, they said that this was not the case. I can't talk in general, but my personal opinion on the point is that if ShiVa can PORT to it, WE develop for it, and right now we've been having no issues getting our apps into Blackberry, so I'm happy with it

MORE INFO: This is great info for all of us looking to develop apps in the future. Targeting apps that could incorporate TV Shows, or live sports events that can connect via facebook or twitter or something like that could be a possibly cashflow area. Something interesting to check into for sure

MORE INFO: Really cool stats on how many phones/devices are estimated to be sold this year. They are claiming 123 million more devices will be sold this year alone and that by 2016 Android devices will have around a 53% market share.

QUICK INFO: Expect to see a whole bunch of downloads coming up this back to school season on Nook! I believe they are trying to combat the $25 gift cards that Google Nexus users are getting! App developers get ready for some serious sales!!

QUICK INFO: This is a great promo right now for those who are planning to upgrade their macs. JUST MAKE SURE YOU NEED TO UPGRADE IT BEFORE DOING SO. I personally just got the upgrade myself, at $20 its a STEAL! Get it now before it goes up (NOTE: If you bought your MAC after June 11th, from what the article says you get OS X Mountain Lion Free).
TO GET MOUNTAIN LION FOR $20, Log Into the App Store via your Mac and look for OS X Mountain Lion. You should find it listed for $19.99. Select it and download (About 4GB) and then install it.

MORE INFO: Looks like microsoft is planning to possibly release the new surface tablet at the end of October this year and another version of the tablet 3 months later in 2013. Proposed prices are around $500 for the base tablet and $1000 for the more advanced intel based tablet...Not sure if those prices will help make things hit off, but the new Windows 8 OS will be released at the same time apparently...It will be interesting to see what happens when that comes out...suffice it to say I'll personally be working on getting our apps ported to the new platform asap so that at least we can be ready for the new market when it comes out

MORE INFO: Register asap at 8am on the 8th of August (In like several hours time) if you want to get into the event which is taking place in Redmond, Washington, USA. If you want to learn more about the latest windows 8 OS and developing for it directly from Microsoft Engineers then this is a definite event to check out. I myself will be trying to get in there as well (however it is quite the distance for me so I may just skip it)
In any case it should be fun

MORE INFO: Seems that WebOS is no longer really going to be part of phone devices from HP's side, but a new company GRAM will be created for some purpose...From Game Scorpion's side of things, we are no longer really supporting development of apps for WebOS.
