Im working on a space combat game, where the players ships are small one man fighters. I want to create a scene set at the edge of a nebula and asteroid field. I was wondering what the best way to make a nebula is. i was thining fog, but the scene is going to need to be quite large. I want the game to be able to run on the ipad or high end smart phones if that helps. Im new to shiva but I think its a great program. Im just a bit new at this kind of thing

as nebulas are made up of transparent sprites, billboards or models, it is almost impossible to get them to run well on current generation mobile devices due to the huge slowdown you get from the alpha drawing. trust me, i am working on a space game for desktops and we bring our machines to a crawl regularly by having 300 animated nebula sprites on the screen.
also, not 1 space game on the iphone has nebula (gof2 for example).
