Camera Distortion distance?

Could this feature be added in the future?

I wanted to simulate a mirage in the distance.

you could allready make this effect,j sute use reflection map + some flat poly using transparente texture and normal map.

no problem.

It's the same technique for water, fire, gun ect..
for exemple if you play diablo 3 they make lot of use of those type of technique
