mac icons 1024 fiasco

If Apple is listening, we got this today:

Starting in July, newly submitted iOS apps require high-resolution icons and cover art. Large icons and Newsstand cover art must have a minimum resolution of 1024 x 1024 pixels. ...

Apple, any plans to update Icon Composer to handle 1024X1024 soon so we can meet this deadline more easily?

Icon composer is supposed to be able to make 1024 icons. I updated xcode, it hasnt updated icon composer. How the hell do I get it?

The latest version 2.4 seems to not have the 1024 size!!!

Can someone send me the Icon composer.dmg v2.2 pls

I am loosing all fondness of my mac....or rather the bad decisions that they keep making.

I can't believe I've spent all day on trying to make an icon 1024 !!! I wish I could bill apple for this joke!

I don`t think is a fiasco, just a change of preferred method. Seems that Apple dropped the use of icon composer, as well as the naming convention for icon sets.
Good thing is that xcode can convert the iconset automatically, and also there is the command line utility.
Read the contents of the link below from start to finish and you would be satisfied, I hope.

So they are saying that the size should be 512x512@2x and not 1024x1024. (whatever that means)
And specifically warn not to use image composer
