Congratulations Jopacus. It's great to see a Shiva developer up there with the ranks of gameloft and electronic arts. Goes to show that solo developers are capable of doing great things..

still, i see on it with mixed feelings that a 5 minute flick like glow air hockey gets 100k and "beats" a game like CoD, which surely ate hundreds of hours of development time, is much more sophisticated etc. basing quality on download figures ("popularity") is somewhat questionable.

Keep in mind they are different catagories. (Paid vs Free)... so CoD was not really competing against Glow Hockey ranking 1st. If you look lower in the list, you can see Glow Hockey was also a paid app, and landed the developer an extra $10k (i say congrats to him/her). So lets look at some of the games in the same catagory that CoD did beat... Nearly every gameloft game which is a very nice result.

Either way, i dont think Jopacus cares to much that he 'only' got $50k and not $100k... I am sure he did a little dance when seeing his ranking, and he is probably throwing a big party right now..

What would be interesting is to know how many sales he actually made to rank that high... dont know how big the palm market actually is at the moment, so for all we know it could have been as low as 1000 sales.
