Hi!
Please help me understand, what "dynamic fonts" are, and how they are used =)
If I create one, no texture is created and I see nothing at runtime.
Are these even bitmap fonts?
I thought they are, with the difference to static fonts that you can decide what characters you want.
Thanks upfront!
Christian

Ah ok ... you need to set encoding to UTF-8.
But still, some technical details would be interesting (performance and such) =)
And: if I need some custom outlines, I can only do it with static fonts right (adding them in Photoshop)?
http://www.stonetrip.com/developer/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=23627 lets me think it would also be possible with dynamic fonts ...

I am interested in these topics, too. Right now I'd like to know if there are any benefits using them on mobile phones.

Hi,
There are no special benefit, except having all UTF8 characters available. Rendering is exactly the same.

When you say dynamic fonts, do you mean unicode fonts?
I'm having trouble getting anything other than translated English letters. Say if I get a Japanese word (as given in the language tutorial) then that is just displayed as spaces...?
Can someone extend the tutorial or show where to get appropriate fonts which ShiVa can use to create fonts?
