Palm Phones and TabletsDo I need to be a company ?

In the Palm registration process, a company name is requested, but I'm just an individual.
Do you think that I can still apply to the registration program ?
If someone has any idea...
Thanks in advance

If you earn income from a source other than an employer then you are a business (at least in the US you are). Businesses are regulated by each state and often by the local municipalities. In my area, for example, I need both a state and city license to conduct business here. The simplest business type is a "sole proprietor" using your own name as your business name. Many people use a different name than their own and are then considered a "DBA" (for "doing business as"). Google "starting a new business" for more info.
Be careful what information you enter when you fill out a form for something that may give you money (such as a software distributing service). These services are usually required to report the income they pay you to the IRS. If you provide fictitious info it could send up a flag which then could get you audited.
Outside of the US I have no idea what the requirements might be.

I got an anwser from Chuq Von Rospach (Palm Developer Community Manager), he told me to put my name as a company name, but that was the easiest part, then there is the tax info form...
So I filled it but I'm really not sure about what I did... Anyway this is done now

Hi French SHIVA user
I live in spain but last week met up with some friends who live in france, the french goverment has just created a new tax status called autonomo-entrepreneur from what I understand you sign up as such and pay a flat percentage of profits. Its brilliant I wish I had the same status in Spain. You should look into it.

Hi Spanish ShiVa user
Yeah, I'm about to be an "auto entrepreneur"
that's a good way to start a company (even if there are some limitations...)
but I do not understand, right now, everything that Palm asks about Tax informations... anyway when I get the point I post it, if that can help someone else...
